Church of the New Wine commenced on Sunday
the tenth of May 1998, under the leadership of Pastors Greg & Judy
Willis, with the faithful support of seven overseers;
Stan & Carole Adamson, Dennis & Chris
Holman, Lance & Marjorie Holt and Bill McGowan.
Since being obedient to God and commencing
this new work, which is based on The Word, Worship & Prayer, our wonderful
Lord has shaped and moulded his Church and hence we have arrived at the
following statement & purpose:
We desire to be a Church where the presence of God is encountered
and to express the very heart and purpose of Jesus to this word as revealed
to us in Luke 4:18, 19;
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
He had power.
Because he has anointed me
He had Purpose.
To preach the gospel to the poor
He has a Massage.
To proclaim liberty to the captives
He brought freedom.
And recovery of sight to the blind
To set liberty those who are oppressed
He loved the whole person.
To proclaim the acceptable year of the
Lord
Now is the time when God is at work.
Being a Church that committed to developing an end time prophetic
ministry.
Being a light to the Church and the world in regards to Israel [the
apple of God's eye]
and her place in the plans of God and our responsibility towards
her, and in so doing, bridging the gap between our Hebraic roots and Christianity
today.
The vision will be achieved by an unswering commitment to the foundation
of prayer, the Word, Worship and a total reliance upon the Holy Spirit.
Statements of Faith
We believe:
1.The Bible to be the inspired and only
infallible Word of God [2 Tim 3:16]
2.There is one God eternally existent in
three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.[Math 28:19]
3.The deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus
Christ, in his virgin birth , his sinless life, in his miracles, in his
atoning death and his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right
hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory - come
lord Jesus!
[Luke 1:26-35, John 1:14, 1Cor 15:1-4,
1Thess 4:13-18]
4.In Jesus Christ as our own personal Savior
and Lord.[Acts 4:12]
5.That the Holy Spirit indwells the life
of the believer and that he regenerates us, leads us into all truth, enables
us to bear the fruit of the Spirit and that all the gifts of the Spirit
are still in operation today, as seen in the early Church and are the tools
that God has given to his Church [Gal 5:22,23 1Cor 12-14].
6.In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That
it is;
a) A promise of God founded in his
Word. Acts 2:38,39
b) For this day and age also. Acts
2:38,39
c) Necessary for all. Acts 1:6
d) Not something which necessary
happens automatically at the time of conversion or baptism in water. Acts
8:12-17/19:6
e) Is evidence by the resident power
of God manifested by the believer as directed by God, some
such examples being Acts 2:4,19:6, Mark 16:17.
We would encourage all who desire to flow in
the Spirit of the New Testament Church to believe for their own experience
of some expression of the resident power of the Spirit in their lives,
yet as an ongoing reality.
7. A literal interpretation of the first 11
chapters of Genesis.
8. The believer identifies himself with the
death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ through baptism
by immersion. [Rom 6:1-11]
9. In the table of the Lord, commonly called
communion or the Lord's supper, for believers
[1Cor11:28-32, Math 26:26-28]
10. In the renewal movement and we assess the
sovereign hand of God not by the manifestations but by the fruit that is
produced.
11. In bringing our tithes and offerings, both
individually and corporately. [Gen 14:1-20, Heb 7:1-21]
12. That the devil is both real and personal
and appointed to eternal judgment in the lake of fire along with this angels
[Math 25:41, Rev 20:14,15]
13.In the Priesthood of all believers.
Leadership
The Church of the New Wine is a leadership based Church, where the responsibility
for the direction and leading is vested in the overseer team.
Input and feedback is welcomed by Church members and those in attendance
and the overseers team will seek to keep open channels of communication
so that a good level of interaction can take place.
Ministry opportunities are based upon the call of God upon a persons life
and the giftedness that has been entrusted to them, the overseers will
prayerfully help Gods people to discover the area of service that fits
their giftedness.
